Welcome to my Italian Stiletto page! This page represents a few of the more recent Italian stilettos available on the open market.
When purchasing these knives, one is likely to encounter a few main brand names, including Francesco Beltrame (Frank B), Armando Beltrame (A.B. aka Maber) and A.K.C. (Campolin).
Some of the later knives can be identified by their tang stampings, however, it is not unusual to see "Stainless Italy," "Rosfrei," and other generic markings. Often, the only sure way to know which cutler built a knife is to purchase it directly from the source.
Handles (scales) vary from plastic to exotic woods, pre-ban ivory, stag and various types of bovine horn. Blades come in three basic types: Bayonett, dagger and standard, with there being a few variants that surface from time to time.
Common knife sizes include 7,8,9,11,13 and 18" with there being a few other sizes available at both ends of the spectrum. The most common sizes are 9 and 11 inches. Most of the knives are described with metric measurements, so it pays to know your metric system.
